I am Vanessa Swens, founder and director of Dies Mundi.

Prior to establishing Dies Mundi in December 2008, I worked in the HR department of ING Investment Management in The Hague for nine years. Co-ordination of international employee relocations, in particular of visa and permit applications, has been one of my responsibilities with ING. I gained valuable knowledge and experience in this area, which I decided to put forward in my own company Dies Mundi. In this way I hope to be able to help out HR professionals in international companies and organisations who face any of the challenges I did in the process of hiring foreign employees.
Dies Mundi (Latin) literally means 'Day of the World' which reflects my vision on human resources management and employee mobility: every day is one of global possibilities.

Since April 2010, I also offer translation services in Dutch and English. The Dies Mundi website will be updated shortly to include these services. As a freelance translator, I have already done various translation assignments for international companies, such as translation of a pension ruling, website and intranet texts, and international (employment) contracts.

I graduated for my Bachelor degree in European Studies in 1999. I was born in The Hague and still live and work there.
